Volleyball

It happened in the UP high school grounds. I was teaching volleyball to the ACES members. ACES means Association of Civil Engineering Students, which of course is the organization I am in during college.

The kids were very hard headed. I told them about how I went from zero to better in playing volleyball. I told them that basketball helped me in getting better.

It's not what you think.

During my 4th year, I thought of playing for the volleyball team for the then upcoming Intramurals. I decided to play the game since I have been playing softball and basketball for all of my three years there. For my senior year, I played basketball, softball, soccer, and volleyball. The Intramurals rule book said that a student should not have 3 major ball games; should only be 2 and some minor games. Minor games included table tennis, board games, etc. Well, I played all of the 4 major games. Heh!

I wasn't really good in playing volleyball that's why I trained really hard to be good at it. I used the basketball court during my self training. I got a volleyball, stood at the three point line and hit the ball towards the board. I was doing it fiercely 'til my hands hurt. That's where I learned how to serve and spike. I learned other things with the team afterwards.

Back to the dream.

I was trying so hard to motivate all of the 30 or 40 people who were lining up in the quadrangle. They were so hard to discipline. Either they don't keep their mouths shut or they cannot stay put. It gave me a hard time.

I kept on shouting the instructions. They just wouldn't listen. I went back to the classroom and cried.
